Alcemi: We have provided a funding facility to Alcemi to develop large-scale storage facilities in the UK. Storage facilities will be critical infrastructure to enable the deployment of intermittent renewable energy in the UK. This follows the Alcemi team’s success in the gas peaker market between 2017 and 2019.

JBM UK: Following a successful relationship in Ireland, we partnered with JBM Solar to develop large-scale zero-subsidy solar schemes in the UK. We provided a funding facility to take these projects through to ready-to-construct. The pipeline includes a mix of standalone and solar plus storage co-located schemes. RWE acquired JBM Solar in March 2023.

JBM Ireland: We partnered with JBM Solar in 2016. We provided a funding facility for Irish ground-mounted solar development. We sold the enterprise to Statkraft A/S in mid 2019.

Urban Grid: We backed Virginia-based developer Urban Grid in 2016 with a funding facility for east coast US ground-mounted solar development. Urban Grid came with a proven track record of developing over 15 sites in the US, had seeded a 20,000 MW pipeline and agreed to co-invest with us as a minority partner. Brookfield Renewable acquired Urban Grid in January 2022.

INRG solar: We provided a funding facility and partnered with INRG Solar between 2012 and 2017. INRG prospered into one of the leading privately-owned UK utility-scale solar developers, having developed and sold 20 solar projects ranging in size from 5 MW up to 50 MW. Our total portfolio delivered was approximately 250 MW.
